The Multitype Library Board was established under the 1996 The Libraries Co-operation Act to facilitate the cooperative development of the multitype library system in Saskatchewan. It provides a forum for appointed representatives of all library sectors in Saskatchewan to meet and discuss ways in which libraries can cooperate to share resources and services.
A multitype library system is a network of working relationships, between any combination of autonomous libraries and information providers, established to share services and resources for mutual benefits.
The purpose of the multitype library system is to support communities in their access to affordable, quality information services.

The Ministry of Education provides strategic, innovative and collaborative leadership to the early learning and child care, Pre-kindergarten through Grade 12 education, literacy and library sectors. It promotes higher student achievement and wellbeing for Saskatchewan children and youth and improved literacy skills for all, as a foundation of the province's social and economic growth.
The Provincial Library and Literacy Office (PLLO) is seeking a professional librarian to develop, co-ordinate and implement policies and programs related to multitype library services in Saskatchewan and to provide support to the Multitype Library Board. The successful candidate will work to achieve the Multitype Library Board’s goals and objectives encouraging cooperation and resource-sharing among all libraries and other information providers, and support the Multitype Database Licensing Program.
The ideal candidate will have superior facilitation, negotiation and consensus building skills in order to work effectively with a diverse group of partners, stakeholders and communities. Your strong research skills, supplemented with experience in project management will support the development and implementation of province-wide projects The preferred candidate will need knowledge and skills in the area of e-resource licensing and management, and knowledge of the legislation and multitype library development in Saskatchewan.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a Master’s degree in Library Science. Preference will be given to qualified equity group members who self-declare in this online application, as identified in "diversity groups" below.
